Introducing Mick, born approximately November 6, 2014, is one very cool dog with a rags to riches tale. Mick was rescued from a hard, severe, life living on a chain in someone’s yard and obviously never got enough food to eat. He was extremely underweight at 41 pounds, thus he was named for skinny Mick Jagger. He was very scared. It is difficult to imagine the sights he has seen. He had zero reason to trust another human. But he received the gift of a second chance and he has made an amazing turnaround.

Mick went from being afraid to go inside his foster house at all to being an active, friendly part of the family. He has learned to play with other dogs, which he loves, and is learning to walk on a leash. He is working on overcoming a reluctance to get into a car, but once he’s inside the car, he loves riding and looking around. He has experienced two different off-leash dog parks and did great, going up to all the humans to greet them, and playing with all the dogs. He is so cute! He has double dew claws in the back and collie-ish ears in the front. They stand up a little more than the usual Pyr ears, with a dusting of black shading on them. He is just an adorable little guy.

Like Jagger, Mick relishes in attention. He loves people and would do fine as an only dog, but also gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing. He is growing and energetic and if he is an only dog, he will need regular exercise and social trips to a dog park.
Mick is going to need lots of reassurance. He really needs someone who is home a lot to help him build his confidence and help him understand those days of being stranded and neglected are over. Since being at his foster home he has basically started from scratch and has made great strides. It will be important for his new family to pick up where Foster Mom leaves off. He is housebroken with a pet door, but may need some instruction on how to go out at your house if you will be opening the door for him. He is new to walking on a leash and needs some polishing. He needs patience getting inside a car or going into a new place, His foster family has been taking him on lots of outings in the car so he learns that going places doesn’t always mean to the vet, but that it can also be a positive experience. He is still undersized and will need some filling out safely and gradually.  In the right hands, Mick is going to continue his amazing transformation. He is such a happy, precious boy who was always meant to be someone’s very special pet.
