Meet Finnegan, a Great Pyrenees born around 11/6/2009.  He has traveled a long way to find you. This handsome boy is a classic example of the male Great Pyrenees. He is sweet, affectionate, friendly, and very protective of his loved ones.

Finnegan had an unkind start in life. He was found as a stray, walking on only three legs due to a very painful hip injury.   Finnegan was placed in veterinary care where he received surgery to correct his hip.   Then he adjusted well to being an indoor dog and family pet where he was best friends with a Chihuahua and a cat.  He found that being the center of attention is a-okay.  Unfortunately, his family’s circumstances changed, and they could no longer keep him.

He hopes to find someone who enjoys daily strolls as much as he does.  He was sneaky in his last home, always begging for more food, like so many of them do.  His mommy didn’t notice that he gained way too much weight to be supported by his fragile hips.   His foster mom is helping him lose the extra weight, and his new family will need to be dedicated to walking him daily for moderate distances to keep him fit. A nice cozy, quiet life suits him fine.  He does not require a lot of exercise, other than his daily walk, and is happy to hang out in the house with you to keep you company.

He is a real sweet boy, good with adults, calm children, and other dogs, including smaller dogs.  He wants to be a friend and protector. It runs in his blood. He just hasn’t had the right opportunity until now. Will you let Finnegan begin again with you?
