It is difficult to believe this dazzling boy, Vino, came to rescue as a stray, emaciated, matted and covered in fleas and dirt. He cleans up real well. His coat is just gorgeous! At such a young age, approximately just shy of 2, this boy knew he was heading to his brighter future. He greeted his fosters warmly, walking straight up to them offering the classic “pyr hug”. It was love at first sight for all. Washed up and brushed out, Vino is stunning. He has learned a lot since arriving in the safety of his temporary home. It was clear he was very confused about being encouraged to come into the house. “Indoors” was a new concept for him and he initially had to be coaxed, if not dragged in. But he quickly decided life in the “great indoors” is… GREAT! Foster Mom says he was a very well-mannered, patient during his heartworm treatment. It must have been all that extra special attention that kept him from rebelling against the doctor’s orders of keeping calm while he healed. Vino is still getting acclimated to the new noises surrounding him. His survivor instincts are what have kept him alive and he is still sensitive of loud noises or harsh voices. But he loves his people and will seek them out for comfort during a storm as he is quite nervous of thunder. Vino has fallen for his boy, Foster Mom’s young, very active son. He has never shown anything but love for his young human friend. He gets along with dogs close to him in size, and is respectful of the resident cats. He is house trained and walks well on his leash. He is all cuddles and sweetness and his foster family truly adores him. Vino has faced much neglect and he is clearly still getting used to the good life. He will need someone with an experienced hand and understanding as he continues to learn to accept this new thing called “unconditional love”. He is a beautiful boy inside and out, and he is going to be a wonderful pet as his confidence grows. This is his second chance, what rescue is all about. Vino is waiting to give you that wonderful pyr hug of his that was never taught. It was just in him waiting to be shared with someone special.
