Petunia, like the flower, is pretty and delicate. This puppy, at approximately seven months, is just now learning to be a puppy. As a stray, she has seen too much. She came to SPIN a frightened and very thin girl. In the safety of her foster home, she is now learning all about trust and love and she is soaking it right up. She is still very quiet, a follower. She is gentle about everything. She gives soft kisses and follows you around like a shadow, and if you stop, she will put her paw on your feet just to let you know she is still there.
She loves the companionship of other animals and would do well with another dog to act as her mentor as she continues to understand the rules of her new world. She does well with cats and even Foster Mom’s free range chickens are treated with respect. She has such a sweet soul.
Foster Mom has enjoyed watching her learn all about toys and she loves them! She is already house and crate trained. She is a smart girl. Petunia is gaining more confidence daily. She has definitely decided she is an indoor dog as she keeps her trips outside short and sweet. She has found security and love she probably did not know existed. She will continue to thrive in a home where she will receive lots of attention and know that she will not be left behind again. Anyone would be so lucky to have this girl as part of their world.
Spin Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere.
All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
