Please meet the beautiful and oh so affectionate Kaiya. This precious 18 month old has been settling right in with her foster family, wearing her heart on her sleeve so that they can help her find the Pyrfect match and her happily ever after.
Kaiya is a bright girl and proves to be a fast learner who aims to please. She knows heel, sit, down and wait. She is fully housetrained and stands at the back door to let you know she needs to go out. She does not love her crate but can now be trusted with full run of the house when her humans have stepped out. She walks wonderfully on her leash but will need more behavior training with regards to oncoming leash traffic. She has already made huge strides with Foster Mom who can now redirect her with a sit command or by calling her name as an unknown dog approaches and walks by. She will need a strong leader in her future home so she can continue building confidence in this area.
Kaiya is fairly slow to warm up to other dogs. She really is just now being properly socialized after all. She has completely settled with her two furry foster siblings but it did take some time. She is very playful and loves to chase a ball. She would probably love the companionship of another dog and could benefit from sharing space with a confident furry friend.
One thing is for certain, Kaiya adores her humans. She will shower you with kisses if you let her. She is a huge love sponge and wants nothing more than to be with her people. She has attached to Foster Mom’s youngest son, offering him her biggest tail wags and happily follows him where ever he goes. In one of her photos you can see absolute contentment as he is giving her big belly rubs.
Kaiya’s favorite new place to hang out has become the bath tub, captured in another photo. The tub is empty of course but it really looks like she is waiting for bubbles and spa treatment. Too cute.
This girl places great value in her family. She loves feeling included and does great on car rides, a real favorite! Foster Mom says, “Kaiya is probably the most affectionate Pyr I’ve met. She literally wants to be in your pocket. When we leave the house, we look back and see her beautiful face watching us from the front window. She wakes me up by resting her chin on my bed, right beside my face, and gives gentle kisses. They don’t come much sweeter than her. Give her a home and a family, and some training, and she will bless your life for sure.”
Spin Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
