Please welcome the lovely Emma, a 3-4 year old Great Pyrenees who deserves so much more than she has been given. This innocent creature was turned in to a shelter for reasons unknown. She clearly has not had the attention she so deserves as her coat was overrun by unruly mats and she had to be shaved. She has a light case of heartworms for which she is now being treated. She is a bit shy upon introduction but quickly warms up and her sweet disposition shines. While having no reason to trust anyone, she seems to know she is in the right hands at long last. She is confident in her skin and has adapted very well in her foster home. She has had impeccable house manners and can be trusted in the home without supervision. She has done well with the other dogs as well as the resident cats, horses, cows and ducks. But what makes her stand out the most in Foster Mom’s eyes is her natural motherly protectiveness. In a situation where the resident infant was waking from a nap, Emma was first to hear the cries from outside. She was also the first to arrive by the baby’s side full of concern. It was both surprising and touching. She is a very special girl. Emma was meant to be a family dog. Her undeniable loyalty will be her gift back to you should you offer her a chance in your home and heart. Once she puts some weight on and her coat comes back in she is going to be the majestically beautiful Great Pyrenees she was intended to be. Spin Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
