Sometimes life throws us curve balls and difficult decisions are made. Meet Roxanne, a beautiful Great Pyrenees born approximately May 12, 2010, who has been loved to bits. For the last 5 years, since she was rescued, she has known daily walks, car rides, jaunts to the dog park and other outdoor activities. She has known the good life where someone has been sensitive to her sensitive nature. She has known safety and love. After years of this trusting bond, Roxanne’s owner has succumbed to health issues making it difficult to maintain the lifestyle that has kept Roxanne so healthy and happy. Her owner loves her enough to stay by her side while helping her find a new family who will be the pyrfect fit for her forever more.
Here are some things her current owner has to say about this very sweet and affectionate girl:
‘Roxanne is a characteristic Pyrenees that loves to go on walks or enjoy the dog park and gets along great with other dogs. She has the big dog bark that will let you know if an unfamiliar person is nearby but is not one for unnecessary barking. Roxanne loves to ride in the car or just curl up on the sofa with you but prefers to spend most of her free time outside in her “man cave” area. It will take her a while to get to know you but once she does, you are her whole world and she wants to go with you everywhere. She is gentle and sweet around children. Roxanne would do well to continue as an only dog but doesn’t mind being around other dogs as long as they are not rowdy. Since Roxanne is a Pyrenees she will sit out in the rain or snow and only loud thunder will force her to come into the house. She is still a puppy at heart but with that laid back Pyrenees style of guarding the flock.’
Roxanne is a seasoned girl with a lot of playfulness. She can be reserved until you have earned her trust. But when you are “in” you will never question your importance to her. She is a wonderful companion and very best friend to the very right kind of heart.
