Even after the darkest storm, the sun will shine. This is Chloe, one of the bravest dogs you will ever meet. This 5 year old Pyrenees mix has weathered the darkest of storms indeed. While parts of Texas were receiving record breaking rainfall and flooding this summer, Chloe was facing terrors no animal should ever have to endure. She was discovered abandoned and defenseless on the side of the road, locked in a wire crate from which she was desperately trying to escape. Upon her rescue she was vetted and cared for by a wonderful medical team who found her to be a very special girl. Her photo and story were circulated and several organizations worked together to help secure her future. It has been such an inspiring effort. Now in the care of her loving foster, Chloe is flourishing and her physical issues are healing extremely well. Her fur is growing back where her legs were wet for days. Her skin has ceased itching. Her molars are worn from trying to chew out of her crate, but that does not affect her eating at all. In fact she is enjoying good food, plus some extra to put weight on. Given some time to settle in and despite the neglect she has suffered over the last many years, Chloe has emerged as a most affectionate and engaging dog. She has been eager to meet everyone. She is extremely laid back and adores her people. She always wants to be in the room where the action is going on. She is sticking close to Foster Mom right now but the more comfortable she gets, the more Pyr independence she shows. Foster Mom says she has the “Pyr paw down pat” and is not too shy to ask for pets. Chloe is a very playful girl and loves wrestling and romping with her fur siblings. She would benefit from having a seasoned companion in her forever home. She is goofy and silly and chasing squirrels in the backyard is her favorite activity paws down. They don’t stand a chance as she stalks them from the bottom of the tree. She does well on her walks, gets along with cats, has lovely house manners. She really is practically pyrfect. With the dark storms behind her, there is nothing but sunshine around her. This girl is a survivor. She deserves a family who understands her past and promises her all the love in the world. For Chloe the skies have cleared and her future is wide open.
