About Sam

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

Do you see the smile on Sam’s face? It is one you will need to get used to because it is permanent. This cheerful 1 ½ year old boy is simply a joy to be around.
Sam has impressed Foster Mom since he arrived. She says, “Sam is a dream dog and he will attach to his new family immediately.”
Sam enjoys the company of other dogs, especially when they can keep up with him in play. He is still young so a playmate would be beneficial to this very outgoing fella. When he is not too busy tumbling with his foster four legged siblings, he is content to lounge indoors with his beloved humans to whom he is very loyal. He will even come when his name is called which is a pretty big deal in the Great Pyrenees world.
Sam would prefer a loving home where he can get his exercise in play. Leash walking is somewhat of a struggle for him. Sam lived his young life at the end of a chain. He was not raised with daily walks. He is perfectly fine with other dogs but the leash represents a lack of room to escape in an uncomfortable situation with approaching unknown dogs. Sam would love a family who understands this and who will not put him in a situation to be set up for failure. He has tried, he really has but it is too stressful for him. He’d much rather show off all of his other wonderful traits in the comfort of his home and a roomy backyard.
Sam’s favorite time is family time. He would like nothing better than to curl up into a little ball right beside you on the couch and rest his head in your lap for ear rubs and to be told what a good boy he is. Then he is happy to drift off and dream about all the fun he is going to have the next day. Maybe Sam is smiling because he knows he is one step closer to his happily ever after.

Spin Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere.

All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.  Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!  For the most current information and pictures, don't miss our Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/SPINrescue
