Introducing Heidi, a particularly special girl with a tenacity and spirit like no other.
Upon meeting this adorable 2 year old, you would never guess the horrible situation from which she came. Heidi had a deplorable owner who did not have her spayed and when she was pregnant, she was left outside in freezing weather to deliver her puppies. Sadly 5 of her nine puppies froze to death before she and her litter were rescued. After coming into rescue, her Foster family noticed she was not walking well and took her to an orthopedic vet who determined her hip had been dislocated, requiring surgery. Through all this she was trusting of the new people in her life. She seemed very aware that things were finally going to go her way. And she was right. Heidi is now several weeks post-surgery and has been recovering wonderfully. While she still has a slight limp, she is as bouncy and spry as any young dog. She loves her walks so much and when romping around with Foster brother and sister, that wagging tail of hers has a mind of its own. She adores her furry Foster siblings and is hoping to find a home where she will have a constant playmate. Foster mom has also noted that having a companion provides comfort when her humans must leave the house. Heidi is so very affectionate and devoted. Foster Mom says, “We call her the love sponge because she just wants to be near her people and be loved on. They don’t come much sweeter than this girl!”
It truly is astounding how trusting Heidi is. With her big smile and joyful personality, this is the kind of girl that will inspire you to find happiness even in your gloomiest of days. All she wants in return is a promise of safety and everlasting love.
