Free Training Available: Born around 7/1/12,Tillie is a pyr mix (possibly Aussie) who is very smart and playful. She was found running stray and loves to run, walk on a leash and jump over things. Because of her activity level and high intelligence, she will be eligible for free training at a dog academy southwest of Fort Worth after she is adopted. She is already doing well with a leash and some other basic commands, but she will clear most fences if her human loved one is on the other side. Tillie is a strong dog, both physically and mentally (she can outwit most of us), but she is as gentle as can be with any child or other person. Tiny little children pet her and she stands as still as can be with her tail wagging. She and her foster mom have walked up to people just sitting resting, and contractors near trucks; she is friendly to all.
She loves to eat and treats are a great motivator for her, yet when she takes the treats from your hand, she does so gently and carefully. We believe she is an alpha dog, which means she wants to be the boss of the yard and she might decide to keep another dog from the water - this could also be a herding instinct at work if she is part Australian. She would do well with an active family and does not seem to need other dogs for company if she gets plenty of attention!
