Rawlins is estimated to have been born around June of 2009 and was picked up as a stray with a lab friend. He loves attention but is very gentle and careful with his paws, reaching but not quite touching when asking for love. His coat is huge, beautiful, needs brushing often to keep the undercoat under control, and he is big and still needs to gain weight. Like most strays, he is a little food protective and just needs to be separated from the other dogs at dinner time. He is okay with chickens and goats and mostly ignores other dogs - he has outgrown the puppy play stage but does not seem inclined to fight over who will be in charge. He is happy in the 4' fenced foster yard, but is capable of jumping over it easiy when he has a good enough reason, so he needs at least a 6' fence. He has behaved himself very well when put in a kennel and waits patiently for potty breaks. He would be an excellent dog for a home in which there is an elderly person, or where there are livestock, and probably also with children.
Spin Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
