Gemma’s DOB is estimated at 8/21/2011, so she still has the liveliness of a toddler, and as with any child, she’s still learning her manners. She is house-trained and will usually go to the door to ask to be let out; if you’re not paying enough attention, she will occasionally let out a little bark to say “PLEASE! Let me go potty!”  You’ll need to remember to put things away (especially in the kitchen), as she’s a big girl who likes to counter-surf.  Her foster mom says she’s making progress in breaking this bad habit, but with a toddler, progress is not always as fast as we would like.  She seems to need a strong alpha male dog in her life to help her remember that she is not the boss, but she might be okay as the only dog of a strong and well-trained human.

During warm weather, Gemma LOVES playing in water.  She is a real lovebug who likes nothing better than just sitting next to you while you stroke her glorious coat or scratch her beautiful head but she need humans who can handle 90 lbs of energy.   Gemma will gladly ride along with you in the car, or take a walk with you, though she’s a strong girl and will pull on the leash in her excitement to see new places and meet new people.  She is such a beautiful dog that she attracts attention everywhere she goes, and she loves every minute of it.
