Livy is 8 years old (born in 2004)– very calm and sweet. She has been well-cared for and well-fed, so she could stand to lose a few pounds, but even at 80 LBs, Livy gets around just fine. She is spayed, HW negative, up-to-date on all her shots, micro-chipped, and house-trained. She walks well on a leash, loves children, and is sweet with senior citizens, but she DOES put her paw on you to ask for more attention if you stop petting her; for seniors this “Pyr paw” habit is something to be aware of. Livy is fine with dogs of all ages and sizes, male and female, and is also friendly with kittens. She acts young for a “senior” girl, and enjoys playing with other dogs. She has been safe around goats, but wants to chase chickens, with an eye toward having a tasty meal. Livy enjoys being with her people, whether inside or outside, and she also seems to enjoy being part of a pack. Though a mostly inside dog now, when coyotes are running, her guardian instincts seem to tell her she needs to stay outside with the rest of the Pyr pack; however she’s definitely NOT an LGD
Spin Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
