About Turk

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: White with Gray or Silver
  • Declawed: No
  • Housetrained: Yes

Turk is a beautiful young gentleman who has already had some formal obedience training and comes with a contract for free further training for his life.   He has learned some commands but has the usual pyr stubborn streak.  He is very gentle, especially with small children.  His coat is long and wavy and he is very smart boy, friendly, brave, affectionate, and protective.  He was born March 2, 2011, and like most pyrs, Turk quickly assumes the duty of barking outside at any falling leaf or slight noise off in the distance - but only when he is outside.  Indoors he is happy, quiet, well behaved, and once he finds a toy to chew on you might even forget he is there.  He is a great dog to sleep peacefully all night by your bed.  Turk has mild hip dysplasia and possible knee problems in both back legs, but we are keeping him on joint medications and high quality food and and keeping his weight under control.  So far he has shown no indication of needing surgery (no limping).  He is certainly not aware that he has any physical problems.

Spin Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere.
All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.  Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
