Meg was found in the midst of a herd of cattle, trying to find food in the cattle you-know-what.  She was severly emaciated and had lost most of her hair due to severe skin infections; she also had ear infections.  A good Samaritan took her to the vet and got her started on the right medications, allowed her to become beautiful and THEN called SPIN to see if we could find her a good home.  That should be NO PROBLEM.  Meg is equally happy indoors with grandchildren using her as a pillow, or outside in the midst of a herd of sheep.  She might prefer to be in with the kids during the day and out guarding the sheep (or goats) at night.  She is comfortable with strangers and responds to strange dogs pleasantly unless they indicate that they don't want to be pleasant - then she turns to humans for support.  We don't know why she got lost from her former home because she does not seem to be a wanderer once she finds a home and food; however we still have to require a good fence because of the dangers inherent in our citified neighborhoods.  Her date of birth is estimated to be in 2008.  Meg is overcoming an illness right now and will be ready to interview special families around May 1.

Spin Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere.
All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.  Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
