Beautiful Bess is the classic rescue story; we went to see her in animal control, discovered she was scheduled for euthanasia on the following business day and pulled her immediately.  She is purebred, housebroken and prefers to stick by her favorite humans all day and night.  She walks nicely on a leash and rides calmly in the car.  She is gentle, affectionate, does not bark a great deal, does not get into stuff or counter surf or do any of the things that sometimes make a dog less than welcome inside a home.  Her birthday is probably sometime in 2007.  She has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm negative.  Bess can be growly towards other dogs in her area of the house but plays with them outside.  She would be very happy to be the only dog in a household and will never get too much attention from any humans - family or strangers - to fill her up; she will paw your arm and force her head between your legs for do-it-yourself pets and hugs.
