Meet Leah!  This sweetie pie came to us after being rescued with her brother Luke when they were found on the street and taken to a local animal shelter. They were very malnourished and matted.  She is turning into an extraordinary beauty after receiving so much loving foster care.

Leah’s birthday is guesstimated to be around 10/2/23, and she weighs about 60 pounds.  She may gain a few more pounds if any, but she is definitely in the “Pocket Pyr” category.  Her medium-length coat will likely become thicker as she continues recovering from her street life.

Leah loves all people and goes right up to everyone, even strangers, to get lots of loving.  She loves attention and will stick to you like Velcro when you are up and around in the home.  She is very easy to call inside from the backyard because of how much she loves people and their affection.

She has a moderate amount of energy, still being young and loving to play, and will most likely continue to love playing as she becomes a young adult.

Leah loves to play and cuddle with other dogs.  She currently lives in a foster home with 6 other dogs and could do well in a home with or without other dogs.  Because she was without food for so long, she can be food aggressive at times, especially during feeding time.

Leah is house trained and rarely has accidents in the home. She loves to go outside for walks, but most of all loves to go in the backyard with the other foster dogs and play.

She has been on a few car rides and has done well.  She is crate trained although becomes restless when confined for extended periods of time.

She is doing great learning about walking on leash, and since it is still relatively new to her, she pulls sometimes, especially when strangers are around.

She has done fairly well when being introduced to new dogs as long as there is no food around.

She barks occasionally at things that she does not recognize such as the trash truck and other strange things.

Leah has adjusted well to life as a pampered dog and will be a loving, loyal companion to the family lucky enough to welcome her into their home.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.
