When Tessie was only 6 months old she was struck by a tractor trailer. Now you can only imagine the disaster that occurs when a large truck collides with a little dog but miraculously our Tessie escaped with just a broken rear leg. Her vet performed surgery and the bone in her leg healed just fine but sadly there was some nerve damage and because of that Tessie rarely puts any of her weight on her right rear leg.

But this doesn't deter Tessie in any way. She loves to run and play and bark as much as any other dog, her only restriction is that her exercise time must be limited to not stress her leg.

Tessie is a total love bug ~ loves people of all ages and is especially gentle with the little ones. She is just a sweet, sweet girl with a wonderful laid back personality who is content to lie around with you and be a big white speed bump. Tessie also gets along great with other dogs and cats too. In fact there hasn't been a person or animal she has met that Tessie didn't like.

Tessie's favorite activity is to play in water. She will dig out all the water in hew bowl outside and then lay in the mud bath she has created. Bet she would love a pool!!

Tessie is waiting for her special family to come and take her home to become their loving and loyal friend and companion.
