Cowboy was very at Home on the Range and then one day this young man found his range had disappeared. He was wandering and was found by the gate of a landfill and taken into custody by a very caring individual. She took him to the vet and voila - Cowboy was microchipped and all looked rosey, until the vet contacted his "former" owners that is. Seem their circumstances had drastically changed and they did not want Cowboy back. So he has settled in with his rescuer to begin the search for a new Range to be Home on.
Cowboy was born in January 19, 2007 and is a sweet, sweet boy who doesn't have an aggressive bone in his gorgeous white body. He runs and plays with all the other dogs in his temporary foster nest and shows no reaction to cats. He stands statue-still to be brushed and really prefers to be in the great out-of-doors. When he is in the in-of-doors he prefers to lay quietly in his room (aka crate). He takes a little while to warm up to people but LOVES to be petted.
Cowboy does have some experience with sheep and we think he needs to work. One day his temporary mommy came home to find that Cowboy had taken every one of her shoes outside and was laying watching guard over them - he had not chewed or damaged a single one but not one in the house had escaped his "round-up". The next day she came home and he had taken all the agility jumps she uses for training for the same and moved them to the middle of the yard and once again was lying watching, guarding. Cowboy is very thorough and very diligent with guarding. He also barks alot and we figure he is just letting the coyotes know that Cowboy is on duty, beware.
So if your Home on the Range has room for a new Cowboy you might just be lucky enough to have this young'un join your possee.
Cowboy is a special courtesy posting for his foster mom Carol.
