Johannes (yo hans) means gracious in Scandinavian and our Johannes is that and much more. He is courageous, gentle and kind. He was found in an animal control shelter languishing with one of his front legs 1/2 missing - the stump an open and sore wound. Still he greeted his savior (a wonderful woman who not only rescued him but has given him this very special name) with friendship and gratitude shining in his beautiful eyes. She saw to it he got the medical attention he so desperately needed and then contacted SPIN.

Sadly in his best interest the rest of his damaged leg should be removed but even through that he remained as sweet and grateful as ever, smiling at those who came to offer a pat and well wish..

11/21/06 With heavy hearts we learned that Yanni had more to deal with than just his wounded front leg. Xrays revealed severe hip dysplasia in both hips which would prevent him from having the strength to support his weight and also testing revealed the possibility of him being diabetic which would severely impede his ability to heal from his needed surgery. So we put in a call to the angels and told them that we had a gentle soul that would make a perfect family member for them. They came and met our Yanni and like all of us here at SPIN fell instantly in love with him. He is home with them now, hale and hearty and whole, running free.
