Trudy was born in October 2005 and she is very gentle with huge soulful, sad eyes that will simply melt any heart. She is truly beautiful inside and out. She LOVES people -big and small. She loves everyone. She will sit in front of you and literally beg you to love her as she loves you. She will offer first one paw and then both when asking for attention but is the very essence of gentleness. She has impeccable house manners and seems to know that stuff on tabletops and counters is not for her. She is a leader among dogs though. She gets along with other dogs as long as they are willing to let her be in charge, if not she will assert her authority. She is generally calm and quiet but is also an excellent guard when it comes to protecting her people and her home. She knows sit, lay down, give paw and beg. She also likes give big stand-up hugs. She travels well and enjoys outings, and also walks well on a leash if you don't rush her into new places. We are certain this little angel has had a not-so-nice beginning to her young life and like all dogs who find themselves in dire straits deserves so much better. Trudy will need a secure fence at her forever home, she can easily clear even high fences but she tends to forget about exploring after she learns that she is in a place where she will be loved and cared for - but better to be on the safe side. Everyone knows the bigger they are the more there is to love and the more love they have to give back so this "little" one is going to be a bonanza in the love department for some very lucky family. 6/2/07 - Our Trudy went home with her new family today. Her foster mother loved her enough to let her go, that is the mark of true dog love - when someone will put the dogs needs above their own emotions. So it is that Trudy's foster mom bid her farewell with a heart that was both happy and heavy with sadness too.
