Our Rusty very active and very smart, very playful and very fast, the wind has nothing on Rusty. He is quite the athletic young man and would make a great agility dog. With his big silly ears it is hard for him to look dignified most of the time but when he does he is something to behold.

Rusty is also very, very anxious to please his people and to get along with his dog companions. He knows a few commands and is fairly obedient for all except "down" because he just gets so excited that in his enthusiasm he can't help jumping up when people come to pay attention to him. And he rarely barks.

He is going to need a home with lots of room to run. He will also need to live with humans that are as smart as he is and who will lavish praise on him for a job well done. Speaking of a job well done ~ Got Rodents or other Pesky Critters around the house and can't have a cat? Then get Rusty!! He will kills mice, lizards, other small rodents, birds and any other sort of critter you don't need around the house and then bring the prize to you to inspect. All the amenities of a critter-control cat without the smelly litter box. Of course he shows no interest in doing harm to other dogs or getting into scuffles with them (as long as they are fed seperately).

He would be most happy to help exercise the children in the backyard and has a certain proud dignity in his stance that would be certain to bring plenty of admiration to mom or dad on a stately walk in the park.
