Charlie is about four years old and weighs 107 pounds. He was hanging out in the middle of a rural highway in East Texas when he was rescued by the local Humane Society. His owners did not want him returned. He was filthy and had various health problems (hot spots, calloused elbows, worn and broken teeth possibly from chewing on a chain). He is barely heartworm positive and should respond to medication.
Although Charlie had never been an indoor dog, his foster home is a condo with no yard and he really likes it! He is housebroken, crate trained, walks well on a leash, rarely barks, is good with other dogs (he lives with three females), and he especially likes kids. He doesn't seem to be interested in cats. He even prefers a rub on the head to getting a treat.
Charlie has responded to kind words and a gentle touch and has made miraculous progress in a short period of time. He will make an excellent addition to your family.
Charlie escaped his foster home and found his family on his own a few blocks away. Charlie moved in with them before even contacting SPIN. Guess he got tired of waiting.
Every dog who is adopted thru the SPIN program is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed or neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative. Please fill out an Adoption Application today.
