Abigail is a happy, spunky little girl. She has the sweetest face. Shes quite the typical puppy. Abby loves to run and play but even more than that, she loves to snuggle with her person. Oh, and belly rubs, she LOVES a good belly rub. She is great with children but is still learning how to be gentle with them. And Abigail loves, I mean really loves, cats. We have a little orange tabby cat and they are best friends.
. She is quick to learn but has definitely inherited that Pyrenees stubborn streak. Repetitive praise based training is the best method for her. She does know how to sit for a treat and we are working on leash walking. Abigail has completed housetraining 101 and passed with flying colors. She is also an expert doggie door patron.
Abby is also quite an effective little beggar. She sits so pretty with her little bottom bouncing up and down in anticipation, its so hard not to feed her EVERYTHING!! She has been such a joy to foster. I think of all my foster pups, she is my favorite.
10/26/06 Well all.............my absolute, all time, favorite foster has just gone to her FUREVER home!!! She has a FABULOUS new family!!!!! She is going to be even more spoiled rotten than she already is. Her new Mommy (Kim) was standing in the road watching for us as we drove up and fell in love immediately. She kept saying over and over how beautiful Abby was and how much she loved her already. She has a big back yard that is at least double the size of mine. She will be an inside dog but her new Daddy (Jeff) built a really BIG dog house that's raised off of the ground with insulated ceiling, walls and floors, an 8 inch thick doggie bed inside, Oh! and there's electricity so it can be heated or air conditioned........whatever the weather requires even though she won't be using it much. (Her dog house is a much better house than humans in a lot of countries are living in!!) Inside the house, she already has a HUGE doggie bed with her very own quilt. She also will be getting raised doggie bowls. I told Kim that I free fed but Abby usually only eats around 3pm and midnight so she could probably adjust her feeding schedule to twice a day without a problem. Kim said "nothing doing!!". She would just get the raised bowls so her smaller brother & sister can't get to her food and free feed her just like she's already accustomed.
