Single White Male Seeking Forever Family

Hi there! I’m Chip and I was born in January of 2024. If I could choose one word to describe myself it would be relaxed. I’m just a go with the flow kind of guy who gets along with everyone.

I’m seeking a family to call my own that doesn’t mind a lazy Saturday snoozing on the cold tile floor or sunning in the backyard. I enjoy short walks in the neighborhood and watching sports with my people and dog friends.

I’ve recently left two short term relationships; I was homeless for a while and then lived in a shelter for a few days. Both of those scenarios were not ideal for me. I’m looking for a home with a fenced backyard of any size.

Most recently I’ve been in a foster home in the DFW area with a great family that has large dogs, several cats, and a teenage boy for me to play with. I get along great with all types of dogs, cats, and people.

I would describe my physique as fluffy. I have blond hair with a few dark spots and deep brown eyes. At 4 months old, I weigh 40 pounds and could be expected to weigh about 80 pounds when I’m done growing. I’m a big guy but that just means there’s more to love.

I’m not a picky eater and I am always excited to try new and different treats. I like chew toys, Nylabones, and soft chew toys. I love to play tug of war with my doggy friends and chase them around the house and backyard. (Speaking of dogs, I’d need to have another dog in my forever home to continue teaching me how to be a great pet. If you don’t have a dog currently, you can adopt two of us! I get along great with Kayso.)

I have excellent house manners. I’m (99%) potty trained, crate trained, walk well on a leash, and love riding in the car. I do bark to let you know when someone is at the door or when I’d like to come in from the backyard. I do not jump and I am gentle around small humans so I’d be a great brother for kids of all ages.

By the way, not to brag but, I’m also super smart. I understand several commands such as outside, crate, and no. I am easily redirected when I’m doing something that I shouldn’t, and I’m eager to please my new forever family and learn their rules. In short, I’m a catch!

If you’d like to get together for a walk, a treat or a game of tug of war please see the info below. I know there’s a perfect match for me out there and I can’t wait to meet you!

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI0

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old.  Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
