Meet Sunny!  Her name really suits her personality.  She is a happy sweetheart.

This video shows her playing gently with her furry foster buddy (who is already adopted).  Sunny is the one who often rolls onto her back.  https://youtu.be/Y7zW5Qq8zmU?si=xKiHmlammmnAupEC

This stunningly beautiful girl with a wonderfully thick undercoat was born around October 2020.  She is working on whittling her weight down from 100 pounds to a healthier 90 or so.

Sometimes affectionately called “Princess” in her foster home, Sunny has an excellent temperament with people.  She likes and seeks attention, and welcomes interaction with her adoring adult humans.

She enjoys being brushed and is good at being handled.  She often exhibits a submissive grin and wagging tail when engaged with familiar people.

She is uneasy around the sudden and unexpected movements of young children, so any kids she encounters should be over the age of 12.  She thrives in a calm, soothing environment.

When not lounging in the house with her humans, Sunny loves being outside napping, playing with her doggy friends, and staying on top of everything going on in the neighborhood.

She is vigilant and a good guardian.  She seems to be leery of strangers like delivery drivers and salespeople approaching the house.  In time, she may bark less as she becomes more familiar with her surroundings.  Her behavior seems to indicate a self-assured dog with appropriate manners indoors and out.

Sunny is a well-behaved, crate trained, has wonderful house manners, rides nicely in a car, and knows a few commands. She is super smart and even taught herself how to slide up the closed doggie door panel to get outside and play!

She is nice to cats!

She would do best in a house with a non-alpha male dog over 50 pounds.  She is fabulous with the male Pyr in her foster home, and they have become fast friends.

She has done nicely at a dog park off-leash, sniffing around curiously with her dog buddy.  She interacted little with the other dogs and was non-reactive.  At a crowded event, however, she was reactive with several dogs; perhaps due to limited space and being overwhelmed.

Given a little time for her to adjust to new situations, she seems to check all the boxes for being a successful adoptee.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
