Meet Chip!  We named him “Chip” because you can’t have just one (Pyr)!  Born around March 2023, he already weighed 70 pounds at six months of age, so he is probably going to grow up to be a very big boy!  He has double back dew claws and curly hair that adds to his charm.

This quick video shows his love for playing in his little water pool.  https://youtube.com/shorts/18A5xP8JsIY  After a dry towel “massage” he falls asleep.  It’s a great way to wear a puppy out!

Baby Chip loves every dog and every person he has ever met.  He has never jumped up on people or shown any aggression.  He is always happy.

This little boy was only 9 weeks old when he was found in the woods by himself and brought to a local animal shelter.  SPIN was able to rescue him and provide a loving foster home where he has been a joy to watch as he learns and grows.

Chip loves to play with his toys and with his fur siblings - two SPIN alumni and a Maltese.  His forever home MUST have at least one big dog to play with him.

Chip will sit or lay down quickly for a treat or affection.  He is a very smart puppy and could easily learn any dog trick.  He walks well on a leash and plays well with others at the dog park.  He rides well in a car.

He is fully house trained and does not need to be in a crate.  When his foster parents are away, he is confined to the den with a baby gate.  He stays there with his fur siblings, and sleeps or chews on his bones.  At night he sleeps on the floor with the other dogs next to the people bed.

Chip LOVES food but has never been fed from the table, so he does not beg.  He lays patiently by his bowl and eats eagerly when fed.  He will also finish off any food left in any other bowls.  He is not food aggressive.

He likes to be outside and to explore the back yard, but then comes right back in to be around people.  Chip is looking to join a happy, active family who will include him in their daily lives.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI0

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
