Meet Sweet Pea!  She is petite, gentle, and silly.  Born around April 2020, she is small for a Great Pyrenees, and is at her optimal weight of 50 pounds.

Sweet Pea is shy and a little timid with new people, so it will take time for her to adjust in a new home.  Once she gets to know you, she gets excited and playful.  She frequently gets the zoomies – sprinting with pure joy!

She loves just about every dog she has ever met – big, small, and in between.  She must have at least one doggy companion in her forever home. She will adjust and come out of her shell much faster with them as her mentor.  She really loves to play and run with them.  She is sweet and playful, not pushy, and respectful of their boundaries.

She loves cats that do well with dogs.

Sweet Pea is house trained, leash trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in a car.  She barks infrequently.

Prior to rescue, Sweet Pea was living as a street dog with a pack in a rural area.  She had to be trapped because she was afraid of people. Once in a foster home, she slowly became accustomed to human affection and handling.

She has adjusted to house life, but still has some behaviors she picked up while on the run.  For instance, she walks well on a leash.  But if she is not on a leash, she runs when approached; so, she is not a good candidate for the dog park or any off-leash adventures.

This beautiful girl is super sweet and will be a wonderful addition for a family that is willing to take the time to let her get to know them.  She would likely do best in a calm household, because she runs from sudden movements and startles easily.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
