Meet Dasher!  He is a friendly, spunky, affectionate pup.  Born around late October 2022, he will sprout from his current, cute 25 puppy pounds to around 90-100 pounds of handsome within a year or so.

He was found as a stray along with his canine sister.  We were more than happy to take in the irresistible babes!

Sweet baby Dash loves everyone.  He gets really excited about meeting new people, and he loves just hanging out with humans.  He loves to cuddle with you and lay his head in your lap.  He will cutely squeeze himself between you and the back of the couch if you let him.

He loves kids, too.  Since he’s a puppy, he can seem a little rambunctious with toddlers.  He responds well to "ow" and "no."

In his forever home, Dash must have a large doggy playmate that can handle his energy and size.  He is good with dogs of all sizes, and he loves running and playing with them.  He can get overly playful with very small dogs, but he listens when they says no; then he and goes off to play with the medium/large dogs.

We haven’t seen him with cats, but he ignores the house bunny.

He loves all kinds of toys, especially chews and plushies.  He is good about keeping himself occupied, and enjoys playing with toys by himself and throwing them around.  He likes an occasional game of tug-of-war.  Sometimes he will even chase his own tail!

Dash enjoys patrolling the back yard and barking at disturbances.  He will let you know if he spots anything out of place.

He has been quick to learn manners.  He is already house trained, and he goes to the back door to be let out.  He knows the commands for sit, down, and circle.

He is crate trained.  He likes to protest going into his crate at night, but will go in when given a toy.  He also likes to nap in his crate on occasion.

Since all of these experiences are likely quite new to him, he needs more practice with leash training and car riding.  He will follow you when he’s on leash, but he’s still learning that it’s not a threat.  Car rides make him a little nervous.

We think windows are a new concept for him, too. When he's outside in the backyard and sees someone inside through a window, he barks at them, runs away, and peeks around the corner at the window.  No matter how many times foster mom has shown him that it’s just her, he is confounded when he sees her through the window again.

Dasher will be a wonderful, loving companion for a family that includes him in their daily lives.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI0

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
