Meet Zoro!  He is a handsome two-year old (approximately) Great Pyrenees ready to find his forever home.  He is trim weighing 73 pounds and will probably fill out by adding 5-7 more pounds.

Before coming into rescue, Zoro was hit by a car and taken to an ER for a broken leg. His owners did not pick him up from the ER and SPIN stepped in to help him recover from his injuries.  He is healed and doing well with no long-term effects from his injury.

Zoro is currently in a foster home with other large dogs, cats, and teenage children.  He gets along with everyone but prefers to have his own space for meal times.

He is crate trained and often goes into his open crate for rest time throughout the day and to feel safe. He also eats in his crate.

Zoro is house trained, rides well in the car, and is a great companion on walks.  He walks very well on a loose leash although getting the leash on him is not his favorite; once he has it on, he’s good to go.  With more positive reinforcement we think he will be leashed easily.

In his foster home, Zoro loves running and playing with the other dogs and gets along with male and female dogs. He loves chew toys such as Kongs or Nylabones. He loves to relax outside for an hour or so when the weather is nice and does not bark too much.

Zoro seems to have a naturally calm personality that is starting to shine through. He would do well as an only dog with lots of attention or with other large dogs.
Zoro has not been tested with dogs under 40 pounds.

Zoro is a fun dog who listens well and will probably be trainable for simple commands as he shows interest in mimicking the other dogs in his foster home.

Zoro’s mask makes him an unusual and handsome-looking Pyr and his deep eyes are just mesmerizing in a beautiful chocolate color.  He also loves lots of pets and cuddles and can’t wait for a real family photo opportunity.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
