Meet Hilly!  Born around December 2020, she is a petite girl weighing 65 pounds.

Miss Hilly was first called Bonehilda when she was rescued; it was the beginning of spooky season and she was scary skinny.  She had small nicks and cuts all over her, and she was completely covered in burrs which took hours of brushing to get out.

She quickly transformed into a beauty and now goes by Hilly.  Sometimes we call her Floppy Face, because she loves to have a good full-body shake and you can hear her jowels flapping around when she does it!

She loves to offer her paw to people, especially when she's nervous.  When taken out in public and someone approaches, she'll often turn to her foster mom and make her hold her paw.  She'll also gently offer her paw to new people when they greet her.

She loves people, and is very sweet and friendly with everyone, adults and kids alike.  Too many people at one time can make her slightly nervous.  If the hustle and bustle of a holiday gathering gets to be too much for her, she’ll put herself in a quiet spot in the house, content to make brief appearances to greet newcomers.

Hilly is very polite with her cuddles.  She enjoys placing her head on your lap for pets and will occasionally put the front half of her body on your lap.  She doesn't jump right onto you like some dogs do.

Hilly is perfectly house trained.  She waits patiently at the back door to be let out.  The only barking she does is to let you know she’s finished going potty and is ready to come back inside, or if someone is at the door.  She rarely barks at outside noises.

Since she prefers being indoors rather than out, and is mostly quiet, she might do well with apartment living.

She is leash trained.

Hilly is very well-behaved and causes no issues when she has free reign of the house and her people are away.  She is not a fan of being crated; she will try to break out and might hurt herself in doing so.

She rides well in a car.  She happily hops in and likes going places with you.  Sometimes she gets nervous about getting out of the car.

She occasionally enjoys a bone, chew toy, or stuffy, but her preference is to play with her doggie friends.   While she is fairly relaxed most of the time, Hilly can get rather high energy when playing with other dogs.

Since she can be quite cautious, so we think having a confident dog companion in her forever home would be good for her.  She can be overly interested in smaller dogs at first.  She plays well with the 35- to 65-pound dogs in her foster home.

We haven’t seen her with cats.  She would likely be fine with them, because she hasn’t shown much interest in the house bunny in her foster home.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
