Meet Stella!  We are delighted to introduce this beautiful Pyr who has long legs and gorgeous eyes.  She was born around January 2019 and weighs a petite 70 pounds.

“How Stella Got Her Groove Back.”  Stella came to us from a local Dallas shelter.  She was thin, cautious, and had a limp.

Over the past six months with her foster family, she has really opened up to people and animals.  She is great with the three cats and three dogs in her foster family and with human guests – children and adults.

She enjoys being part of the pack and this gives her added confidence, so we recommend that she have at least one other dog that she can be with always.  She isn’t a lap dog just yet, but she may turn out to be.  Treats are a must!

Stella sleeps well in X-pen (exercise pen) overnight.  She gives an occasional bark if she hears something outside the window.

She walks well on a leash and loves to go for walks with the other dogs in her foster home.

Stella has an old injury on her back right leg.  At some point, she broke her heel which has healed, but has left her with a slight occasional limp.  She takes Cosequin and an anti-inflammatory daily and runs around quite happily. The vet recommends she stays on the trim side to ensure that this injury doesn’t give her trouble, and suggests she not get to more than about 80 pounds.

It has been a great pleasure to watch Stella begin to relax, play joyfully, gain confidence, and start to hold her Pyr tail high!  We know that her forever family will be greatly rewarded by watching her continue to thrive and truly become “a star” in their home.
