Meet Teddy!  He is a cuddle bug who loves attention and likes to communicate with grunts.  Born around January 2022 to a Great Pyrenees mom and an Anatolian Shepherd dad, his ideal weight could be around 100 pounds when he’s all grown up.

Charming Teddy loves everyone he meets.  He gets so excited that he whines when meeting someone new.  He does well with new people coming into the home.

He is very gentle and seems really relaxed for a puppy.  He enjoys leaning on you and will sometimes want to be in your lap and lay his whole body across your torso.  We think he'll be very easygoing and chill as an adult.

He can be very goofy!  He'll beg to be petted, then when you reach down, he flops onto his back like he's playing dead before you can even touch him!

He also grunts when he is very excited, like right before dinner.  He barks if you do not feed him fast enough or if you leave him behind a puppy gate he does not approve.  He doesn't bark often; he is just very chatty with his humans.

He's a pretty playful pup, and he loves all dogs.  He plays with the pup and bigger dogs in his foster home all the time.  (He must have a large, playful companion in his forever home.  If you don’t already have one of those, adopt one from us!)  During this gangly puppy phase of his, he might not do well with small dogs under 15 pounds.

He has been introduced to a house bunny and did not harass the little bun-bun.  We think he would do fine with house cats, given proper introductions.

Teddy loves being an indoor dog!  He is so pampered and prissy, that he would rather not go outside!

Even though he's going to be a big boy, he might be fine with apartment dwelling as long has he gets frequent walks.  He is such a fan of the indoors and he is not overly alarmed by outside noises.

Teddy is doing great on leash.  He is fully crate trained, knows sit and lay down.  He does very well in a car; he just lays down and quietly enjoys the ride.

He loves toys, from stuffies to harder chew toys; he seems to like them all.

Teddy has met older children and done well with them.  He is a very sweet and tries to be gentle, but he's getting big so fast, he doesn't know how to handle his own body.   We’re not sure how he'd do with elderly and babies at his current age.

Who can resist this adorable, huggable pumpkin?

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI0

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
