Meet Butter!  Born around October 2018, she is sweet, shy, gentle, and well-mannered.

Butter is currently overweight at 110 pounds.  On her relatively short legs, this is way too much!  She looks like a pony keg!  A little sausage on toothpicks!  We are helping her get to a healthier weight of around 90 pounds.

Butter came to us from a local shelter.  Her backside and tail had to be shaved due to bad matting.  We can't wait to watch her become her best self!

She is little reticent in meeting new people and takes a while to warm up.  She wants to be friends with them and will eventually say hi.

She has made great strides in bravery since first arriving in foster care.  At first, she was afraid to go outside to go potty and had to be taken out on leash.  Now she will go out on her own.  She loves laying under her foster dad’s desk while he works from home.

Butter does the cutest long-distance Pyr-paw!  Where most Pyrs will bap you firmly with their paw to get attention, Butter sits away from you and lifts her paw from afar.  And she’s ambidextrous about it.

Butter gets along nicely with the other dogs in her foster home.  She does not challenge them at all.

She can be playful in spurts.  She likes to romp and stomp with other dogs, where they jump in the air, spin around, and go bouncing after one another.

She would probably do fine having a doggy friend in her forever home.  She could also be fine as an only dog if she has a human companion who is home a lot.

We haven’t seen her with cats.  We think she would be nice to them, and we can cat test her if needed.

She would probably do fine with older, calmer children over age 8-9.

She is house trained and leash trained.  She has no need for a crate.

Sweet, cute Butter is ready for her forever home.   She is such a good dog and is easy to have around.  She needs someone who has a lot of patience to get her through all of these recent changes.

[Note:  Butter is heartworm positive and on the slow-kill method to cure her.]

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
