Meet Carson! He is a kind, gentle soul who loves everyone he meets. There is no dog more agreeable than Carson; he loves people, children, dogs, small animals, even the mailman! This guy has no enemies.
Carson ended up with SPIN after he was hit by not one but TWO cars. He managed to walk away without any serious injury, just sore and bruised.
Carson is incredibly affectionate and wants to be around his foster family as much as possible. During the week, he prefers to spend the days in his foster mom’s office as she works from home. He often makes appearances on her Zoom calls and entertains everyone. Carson has become such a regular meeting attendee that if there is a call where he is not on camera, her co-workers ask, “Where is Carson?” When Carson is not making meeting appearances, he likes to sleep at his foster mom’s feet under her desk.
Carson currently lives in a foster home with two other dogs, and he has gotten along very well with them from the moment they were introduced. While he is very good with other dogs, he could just as easily be the only dog in the house because he loves his people so much.
He enjoys daily walks and does well on a leash. When passing by other dogs he minds his own business, but he’s thrilled when he gets pets from the neighbors he sees on his route.
Carson does not have much interest in toys, but he does like to chew on bones from time to time. He gets very excited when it comes time for breakfast and dinner and sits like a little gentleman when he knows you’re prepping his meal.
He enjoys sitting in a crate but grows anxious when the door is shut. Carson has never gotten into mischief when left alone in the house so there is no need to crate him. When it’s time for bed, he quickly goes to his favorite rug in his foster parents’ bedroom and sleeps there all night.
Carson is fully house trained. He is heartworm positive and is currently going through treatment.
He’s a big boy, weighing almost 100 pounds. He came to SPIN underweight and is getting extra-large meals every day to get him back up to his ideal weight of about 110-115 pounds. He is around 7 years old.
He would do best in a home where one of his family members is around the house most of the day because he loves his humans so much. With his calm and gentle demeanor, he would also do very well in a home with small children or elderly adults.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
