Meet Nola! She is named for the great city of New Orleans, and she has the same free spirit.
She loves to be outdoors, walks great on a leash, and will be a wonderful companion for walking and hiking.
We’re not sure about how she would be on a farm with lots of different animals, but she loves to play with other big dogs and would do very well with a companion or two.
Nola is about two years old and came to us with her sister as they were about to be euthanized at the animal shelter after being part of a puppy mill. She was extremely underweight when she came to us, but it now filling out at 65 pounds with a bit more to go.
She was very frightened of everyone and everything when we first met her, but has come along in leaps and bounds over the past two months. She’s still shy of new people and does well with lots of patience and high-grade bacon treats!
She has shown no aggression at all and has always been fed with her sister in an X-pen without incident and takes treats with her foster siblings at her side.
She’s happy to jump in the car and travels very well. She also tolerates being crated very well, although we have not crated her for very long periods. She is completely house-trained but gets bored with long periods indoors and barks in protest!
Outdoors she likes to bark at the critters around and will bark frequently if left outside for any length of time.
Nola is a real sweet pea and ready to make her forever people smile.
