Meet Phoebe! This sweet, happy, playful, loving girl was born around April 2021. Her ideal adult weight will likely be around 65 pounds.
OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI
Phoebe was hit by a car in August 2021, and was picked up by a Good Samaritan who contacted SPIN. We got Phoebe the medical care she needed, including surgery to repair her back legs, and lots of quiet time recuperating in her foster home. She rested, healed, and became a wonderful, cuddly dog ready for a forever family.
Phoebe has very little lasting effects from the accident. She walks with a slight limp that may improve as she matures. She needs to always maintain a trim figure to keep her joints and bones healthy. A lower protein dog food, a joint supplement, and a cranberry supplement are recommended to keep her in the best shape.
Phoebe is confident, happy, and excited to try new things. She loves all types of dog toys, and she loves playing outside with her doggie friends.
She rides well in a car. She walks well on a leash and is learning to play fetch! She understands and obeys “no” and “sit,” and is learning to “lay-down.” She is even respectful of a yard - she doesn’t dig or try to escape.
She is house trained. Although she sometimes protests going into the crate at first, she sleeps well in it overnight and when her foster family is away.
She has a loud bark, and she barks when she hears loud noises and when someone is at the door. She makes the cutest little pig snorting noise when she’s excited or knows she’s about to be fed!
Phoebe lives in a foster home with a big older dog, three big kids, and two adults. She gets along with all of them.
Phoebe can’t wait to have a family to call her own with a comfy dog bed and all the snuggles you can give.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
