Meet Winston! This cuddle bug was born around July 2020. Weighing 60 pounds at one-year of age, he is a pocket Pyr! He is small for a Great Pyrenees, and he will probably weigh around 70 pounds when he finishes growing.
Young Winston is such a sweetheart. He likes nothing better than to be curled up next to you and feeling the love. He is no farm dog. He prefers to be indoors and as close to you as possible.
When not with his people, he wants to be with the other dogs – whenever he is left alone without company, he cries and whines, so we wouldn’t recommend a home in which he would be alone for long periods of time.
There isn’t a mean bone in Winston’s body – he likes cats, dogs, children, probably tortoises but we haven’t tried yet.
He has demonstrated some food anxiety, so he is always fed separately from the other dogs in his X-pen.
He walks very well on a leash and enjoys a walk a couple of times a day with the other dogs.
He travels well as long as he’s in your lap, so he’s still getting used to being safely in a pet carrier in the back of the car where he can be quite noisy.
He is house trained but still has the occasional accident overnight. He has gotten used to an X-pen, particularly as a safe space for eating, but doesn’t like to be crated. He settles down at night without the crate and you just need to keep an ear out in case he needs to go out.
He still likes to jump up on people for attention but his manners continue to improve every day, and he learns beautifully.
Winston is a totally awesome dude and is ready for his forever family.
