Meet Joey! He is a sweet, shy Pyrenees mix weighing 55 pounds.
Joey was dumped, and it took SPIN about two months to catch him. He was a little scared to begin with but is warming up nicely. He is a fantastic dog!
He is housebroken, walks well on a leash, listens when you correct him. Corrections cannot be harsh, because he is very sensitive.
He does not like the crate and has no need for one. He has good house manners and can be trusted to roam the house without having accidents or getting into anything.
Joey gets along well with the two large dogs in his foster home. He could likely do well with or without other dogs in his forever home.
He hasn’t been tested with cats.
Joey is very sweet and wants to please. He needs time to feel comfortable with new people. He is precious and will make an excellent family member and very loyal companion.
He needs to be an inside dog, and he needs to be on a leash when going outside of the yard. He spooks easily and could potentially take off running if something scares him. Once he trusts you this may change.
We don’t know what Joey’s life was like before coming into rescue, but it seems that he wasn’t treated well. He is sweet and has never shown the slightest bit of anger toward anyone.
Joey will bring a lot of love to your life; he just needs someone to treat him well.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
