OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI
Meet Magnolia! This bashful girl is beyond gorgeous! With her sweet personality and extra-fluffy coat, sometimes we call her Magalicious!
Born around January 2021, she is very calm for a puppy. She weighed just over 63 pounds at 8 months old and we expect her to get a little bigger.
Little Magpie was surrendered by her owners when they saw how big she was getting. We think bigger is better!
She will quickly warm up to you and wiggle her way into your heart. Magnolia is playful, loving, and stays by your side. She loves to cuddle and will happily jump in the bed if invited. When she gets excited, her entire body wiggles, then she will lean against you or sit right beside you.
She loves her people and can be super bashful with anyone new. She is unsure at first when people come over to the home, but she is quickly learning that people are sweet.
Magnolia loves toys! She carries them around gently and gathers them into her dog bed. She loves going to the pet store and picking out her own toys.
Baby Mags is a quick learner and is smart - she pays attention, watches her surroundings, and loves to copycat the other dog in her foster home. She is sensitive and doesn’t need much correction. She gets scared when told “no.”
In her forever home, she must live with another big gentle dog who can show her the ropes. She is uninterested in new dogs at first but has grown a huge crush on her furry foster brother and has done great with other dogs in the home. She often looks to her foster brother for direction and is a lot more confident with him around.
We have not seen her around cats.
She is house trained. She is leash trained and loves going on walks. She does well in the car.
Magnolia is crate trained and used it as her safe place in the beginning however she no longer has any need for it. She sleeps great through the night and does well when left home.
She barks sometimes. She loves joining in when other dogs in the home bark.
We are hoping to get Magnolia into her forever family soon so she can bond, learn and grow with them. She is shy and needs a calm home that will allow her to slowly open up. She would do great with children but they must be patient and gentle with her. Her forever family needs to make an effort to socialize her in the beginning so she continues to thrive.
[Medical note: Magnolia is showing early signs of hip dysplasia. Her back legs hop sometimes when she runs, but it doesn’t slow her down a bit from playing with the dogs or stop her from jumping on the bed. She will need to be on fish oil and joint supplements to stay happy and healthy.]
