Meet Birdie!  Her formal name is Ladybird.  Born around October 2020, she's a big girl at her ideal weight of 100 pounds!

While she sometimes shows her goofy side when she gets the zoomies, this gorgeous sweetie pie has matured into a wonderful dog.  She is outgoing, friendly, very sweet and loving.  She is great with kids she meets on walks.

Lounging outdoors is one of her favorite things.  She also loves to run and play.  She would be best suited for a home with a yard where she has plenty of opportunities to play outside.  She loves mud puddles, yet look how beautifully her luxurious coat cleans up!

At night, she enjoys sleeping on a dog bed in the bedroom.  This has been her preference over the human bed.

Birdie is great with other dogs.  She is very friendly and excited with them.  She does best when she is not the leader of the pack.  She can become possessive and act out towards her dog companions over her people and things like beds. She has not exhibited this behavior in a multi-dog foster home where she is not the alpha.

As a younger pup she liked to pick up things and run off with them, as if she just likes to have things that are hers.

Birdie can be happy with doggy companions in her forever home.  If she is the only dog in her home, she should have frequent play dates with other dogs or go to the dog park since she enjoys running with them so much.

Ladybird knows the commands for sit, down, stand, wait, take it, and leave it. She was working on place, but she’s got a stubborn streak.

She is house trained, leash trained, crate trained.  She rides well in a car and is not much of a barker.  She is nice with cats.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
