Meet Coco! Five stars; highly recommended!
If you are looking for a remarkable Great Pyrenees, we can highly recommend Coco. Born around October 2017, this beautiful girl is very well-trained, has wonderful house manners, and gets along with everyone.
She is loving, loyal, and people-oriented. She weighs 75 pounds and is expected to stay near this healthy weight.
Coco is highly intelligent. Unusual for a Pyr, she obeys lots of commands already. She knows sit, no, paw, lay down, outside, come and crate. And she is working on roll-over! Coco loves to work with her foster mom and kids with her commands for treats. She happily wags her tail and seems so proud of herself. She loves being brushed, pet, and cuddled.
Coco is looking for a family to call her own that has a back yard with a 6-foot fence and a doggie friend to play with. Coco would do best with another large playful dog. She has not been happy as an only dog previously.
Coco would be an excellent companion if you are working or schooling from home. She rarely barks and loves to lay quietly nearby people. Coco is easy going and happily goes in her crate. While a crate is probably unnecessary, she seeks it out to have a space of her own during the day and sleeps best in a crate at night. Her foster family does not crate her while they are away from home.
Coco enjoys being outside. Prior to rescue, she was outside or in a crate. She is quickly learning the joys of lounging inside with people and other animals. She would be happiest as an inside dog with plenty of outside play time and short walks in the neighborhood.
Coco’s foster family has other large dogs, three cats, and two older kids to play with. She gets along great with all types of dogs but seems to do better with male dogs. Coco is curious about cats, but mostly ignores them. She is very gentle and would be a good dog for families with small children. (Sometimes she doesn’t realize quite how big she is so caution should always be taken with very small children.)
Coco doesn’t have much interest in toys but could probably learn to play with some. She walks very well on a loose leash. She is a bit hesitant to get in a car at first but she quickly relaxes and enjoys the ride. Coco is accustomed to eating her food outside and is confused by indoor dining. With a loving forever home this could probably be changed. She is not food aggressive just prefers dining alfresco.
We would highly recommend getting together with Coco for an introduction if she sounds like a good fit for your family. She won’t be available for long!
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
