Meet Samson!  Born around October 2019 and weighing a healthy 96 pounds, he is a beautiful and wonderful young Pyr.  He will envelope you with his wonderfully dark brown eyes highlighted with white eyelashes.

Samson is the most endearing, affectionate dog.  He believes that he is part human and loves to be wherever his people are.  Sometimes he will try to sit on your lap and hug you just as a child would, as he has no idea how big he is!

Silly Sammy is goofy, playful, and loves toys.  He gets very excited when he gets to play with you.  Since he is still a youngster who doesn’t realize his size and strength, he shouldn’t be placed with toddlers or with adults who are unsteady on their feet.  He has lots of playful energy is a bit too rough for fragile human skin.   He needs more training to learn how to play more gently with his people.

Samson loves playing with other dogs, and he must have at least one big, playful doggy companion in his forever home.  A more mature dog in the family would be a perfect mentor for him.  He also needs a large, securely fence yard where he can run around and play.

He likes to play with cats who are agreeable to canine playmates.

SamSam is very smart and learned quickly to “sit” for his treats.

He is leash trained.  He loves walks and is very polite to all humans and dogs that he meets along the way.  He also loves all the praise and attention he gets because of his size and his perfect statuesque posture.

He has no interest in swimming (so far), but he loves playing in puddles!  He looks around for puddles or buckets of water to splash and jump in.

Sammy boy is fully house trained.  He has no need for a crate and really hates being confined in one.

He rarely barks, and only does so if he is trying to alert you to a strange noise or when he is trying to get a kitty to play with him.

Samson is a big, lovable, happy puppy who would love to have a wonderful loving family of his own.  He needs his family to help him continue growing into the great adult dog that he has the potential to be.
