Meet Chief!  This handsome boy is a laid-back gentle giant.  Born around January 2018, he is thin at 70 pounds.  His ideal weight is closer to 90 pounds, and he’ll get there after enjoying lots of yummy vittles and soaking up more tender loving care.

Sweet Chief is very loving.  He loves being petted and being near his humans.  He doesn’t need toys to feel happy; he is super content just finding a comfy spot to lay inside or outside.  At night, he loves sleeping next to you on the floor even when he has access to the rest of the house.  He’s hasn’t yet shown interest in getting on furniture.

Chief does really well with someone home with him all the time.  He also does fine when his people leave the house, he just needs a few minutes to get used to the idea, then he relaxes until you return.

He loves exploring and going on adventures!  He is the best wingman on hiking trips - everyone along the way loves him and he is so good on the leash.

Chief must have a large fenced-in yard with lots of space to roam, run, and relax.  Outdoors is his happy place!

Mr. Man (one of his nicknames) is house trained and he rarely barks.  He has no need to be crated, and that’s good, because he hates it!

He really enjoys car rides, but he needs convincing to get in it.  For now, he needs a booty assist.  In time, he might associate car rides with fun adventures, then he might climb in willingly.  He wants to join you in a front seat!  You’ll need a firm blocking technique or strong netting to keep him safely in the back.

He adores being outside.  He needs a sturdy, tall fence to keep him contained in the yard.

He is nice with other dogs, and he does fine with them at mealtime.

Chief will be an ideal family dog.  He yearns for people to include him in their daily lives.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
