OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI

Stand up and salute when Admiral Halsey enters the room!  This distinguished officer commands attention.  Don’t be fooled by the name though.  He’s a lover, not a fighter.

Born around August 2020, Halsey and his brother were found as strays and brought into the SPIN family when they were only three months old.  They were extremely shy and had obviously never been in a home before, much less know what toys or a full bowl of chow is.  It didn’t take long for Halsey to realize he was in a safe place and could relax and let his sweet personality shine.

Baby Halsey is very loving and affectionate.  He sticks close to his foster mom and dad, tracks them from room to room, but isn't underfoot.  Just keeping an eye on the herd.  He loves pets and sits down in front of you stretching his face up to yours for a boop.  He enjoys being hugged and snuggled while getting his full-body pets.

He trounces around like a toddle just learning to walk!  He's a very happy-go-lucky boy.  He thinks all the food bowls are for him and will grumble and steal a bowl from another.  He's not aggressive about it, but being a pig!  When he's directed to his bowl, he settles and shares.

Halsey has had another older foster dog around to show him the ropes, like getting into the pool, eating zinnias, chewing sticks, and playing tug-a-war with stuffed toys.  He also enjoys a good leisurely chew on a Nylabone and other such treats.  All good puppy activities.  Fortunately, none of the other dogs in the house have told him about eating furniture!  His foster family is extremely thankful for that.

He must have a large, playful dog companion in his forever home.  If you don’t already have a companion for him, adopt one from us!

Halsey had a fast and furious first few weeks.  He was brought to his fosters home, run through the shower, deloused, vaccinated, wormed, and fed a good hearty meal.  It was only a few days before he was neutered and cursed with the cone of shame.  The sweet guy took it all in stride as long as he got his treats and plenty snuggles.

Halsey enjoys being outside laying on the patio or rolling in the grass in the sunshine.  He’s not shy about running around in the rain or rolling around in a mud puddle!  He thinks he’s hilarious.  He may be doing it on purpose just to be toweled off before coming in.  He thinks this is just an opportunity to get pets from head to toe and play with you!

Halsey is crate trained, although he prefers to climb into one of the big fluffy dog beds with all the others.  He sleeps very well through the night.  He also rides very well in the car, although he’s not quite big enough to get in all by himself.  He needs a boost.

Halsey has a very thick luxurious wavy coat that will continue to fill out as he grows and continues to get good nutrition.  He still has his puppy helmet head of hair that you can’t resist mussing up.

This is a very gentle, sweet puppy who deserves a family to love and hug him for the rest of his days.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
