OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI
Meet Gabbi! She is a very sweet and submissive Great Pyrenees. Born around February 2020, she is still in her puppy stage and weighs 60 pounds. She is expected to weigh approximately 80-85 pounds when full-grown.
Gabbi is energetic speeding around the yard and excited to see new friends. She thinks everyone should share their food with her!
Gabbi was found as a stray in Tarrant County. After being examined by a vet, she was found to have worms and a minor injury to her leg. SPIN treated her for worms and allowed her to rest and recuperate at her foster home. Puppies at Gabbi’s age rebound quickly, and she certainly did. She is full of life and energy and ready for her forever home.
Gabbi is a very affectionate girl. She absolutely loves people and attention from everyone. She loves belly rubs, and she will instinctively turn over and show off her belly if you approach her. She is playful, but also loves to cuddle on the couch with people or on a dog bed with a toy.
In her foster home, Gabbi has two big male dogs to play with and she gets along with both of them. Gabbi must be placed in a home with at least one other large, playful dog. This dog will be instrumental in mentoring her to become a great member of your family. If you don’t have a playmate for Gabbi, you can adopt a second dog from us!
Gabbi treats cats nicely by mostly ignoring them. She loves hard toys such as Kongs, rope toys, or hard teething type bones. She loves to play tug-of-war with another dog and a rope toy. Her favorite spot in the house is nearby the people; snoozing on a dog bed or underfoot.
Gabbi’s foster home has two active boys with whom she loves to spend time. She would work well in a family with children of any age; however, she is still learning not to jump. Children should be old enough not to get toppled by her puppy exuberance.
Gabbi is fully housebroken and crate trained. She does not like the crate, and it is not really necessary for her. She is not destructive and prefers to snooze away on the floor if her foster family is away. She has done fine when her foster family is away for up to three hours. Gabbi rides nicely in a car and walks well on a leash.
Gabbi has the appearance of a typical Great Pyrenees with mostly all white fur. She has some small tan spots on her back. She has beautiful brown eyes. Gabbi has a loyal personality and a beautiful Pyr smile. Typical of Pyrs, she will bark when she hears a strange noise, or sometimes if she just thinks she hears a strange noise.
Gabbi can’t wait to have a forever home and spend quality time with her own family. If you’d like to get together for an introduction, please see the info below. There’s a perfect family for Gabbi out there, and she can’t wait to meet you!
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
