Meet Emmy!  This sweet, affectionate, spunky girl was born around September of 2017.  She is getting great nutrition and should soon be up to a healthy 70-75 pounds.  Her former family had to give her up after they encountered a dire life situation.

Emmy is well past the puppy stage, but is still young and playful enough to seem like a puppy sometimes!  She speeds around the yard and gets excited to see new friends.   She is so athletic that she can easily scale a four-foot fence!  At least a six-foot fence is needed to keep this spry girl in her own yard.

Emmy absolutely loves people and attention from everyone.  She loves to cuddle on the couch with you.   Her favorite spot in the house is anywhere near her people as she snoozes on a dog bed (with a toy!) or underfoot.

She cherishes spending time with the two active teenage boys in her foster home.  We think she would do well in a family with children of any age, because she is easy-going and does not jump on anyone.

Beautiful Emmy loves playing with her three big foster doggy friends.  She must have at least one big, playful doggy friend in her forever home, because she craves constant companionship.  When left by herself, she is lonely and depressed.  (If you don’t already have a fur-buddy for her, adopt one from us!)

Emmy is fully housebroken and crate trained although a crate is not necessary.  She is not destructive and prefers to snooze away on the floor when her people are gone.  She rides nicely in a car and walks well on a leash.

Emmy treats cats nicely.  She loves hard toys such as Kongs and teething-type bones.

Emmy appears to be very interested in what’s going on outside, so caution should be used when opening your front door.  She has not tried to go out of her foster home door, but she seems interested in all things out there.  (It may be just curiosity or readiness for a walk.)

Emmy has all indications and traits of being a purebred Great Pyrenees, although she has not been DNA tested.  She is solid white and has light brown eyes. She has a loyal personality and a beautiful Pyr smile. Typical of Pyrs, she will bark when she hears a strange noise or sometimes if she just thinks she hears a strange noise.

Emmy can’t wait to have a forever home and spend quality time with her very own family. There’s a perfect family for Emmy out there and she can’t wait to meet you!

If you’d like to get together for an introduction please see the info below.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
