Meet Princess Leia!  She’s such a happy, goofy love!  In this quick video, watch how she prances through the yard with her tail held in a tight happy curl.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50kJVEf2dO4

Like her namesake in the Star Wars films, she has faced some adversity, but has come out on top.  When Leia came to SPIN from a Dallas area animal shelter, she had a newly repaired broken leg.  After two months of crate rest, this girl is ready to go to a new forever home.

Leia is sweet, smart, and full of energy.  Like most Pyrs, she has bursts of energy throughout the day, and then lays around saving up for the next round!

At about 80 pounds, and born around February 2018, she is pretty much full grown, but we do expect her to continue to fill out a bit.

She loves her walks, and is continuing to add minutes walking as her foster mom and dad rehab her leg.  Leia plays well with her 22-pound foster (terrier) brother, as well as two other Pyrs in her foster home.

Princess Leia loves to be with her people, and will happily spend her time curled up on the floor by the couch, or next to her foster dad’s desk.

In meeting new people, she is reserved, but warms quickly to head scratches and belly rubs!

Because of her size, we would not recommend a home with toddlers, but we would suggest having a doggy playmate.

Leia has not been cat tested.

If you are looking for a funny, friendly, loving girl to join your family, Leia will be a “force” you can’t refuse.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
