OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI
Meet Jeff! He is a giant fluff ball of love! He’s four months old and ready to find his forever home with you.
Jeff is a playful boy who still has a lot of little puppy in his big fluffy body. He has absolutely no idea how large he actually is. He thinks he’s a little dog who should sit in your lap while you watch Wheel of Fortune, or walk beside through a doorway thinking you both fit, or lay in the middle of the kitchen floor while you cook and not trip over him! He just wants to be near you and show you how much he cares.
Jeff has not got a lot of leash experience, but is catching on really quick. He just got a harness, which is more comfy for him than his collar on leash.
He is great in the car. Jumps right in the back seat and watches the world fly by, then lays back and naps. He cries a while when you leave without taking him along, then is always so happy to see you come back home from your errands and wants to hug you hello.
He loves playing with the other dogs in the house, especially tug of war! He is not toy or food aggressive, but more interested in sharing the wealth and enjoying the spoils.
Jeff has not been very vocal and is not a digger, but there are no promises this will hold true as he grows.
He has done very well with basic training. Sitting for a cookie is tops on his list of homeschooling accomplishments. He is doing very well with housetraining, but does get a little excited now and again and has an accident while distracted playing. He’s just a baby! He needs to have your attention so he gets out often to take care of his business.
Jeff does well at night in his crate. He’s not excited about walking in, but settles very well into his sweet snoring mode.
Jeff is going to be a big ole boy as he grows. He is 52 pounds at just 4 months and we don’t see him slowing down! It’s expected that he’ll be around 125 with a nice full coat. He’s all puppy fuzz right now, but that will blow out and fill in with a lovely Pyr coat.
Jeff has a pool available to him at his fosters home, but has not shown interest in getting in as yet. He has however, been interested in the walk-in shower and done very well getting a sudsy bath. Just duck and cover when he shakes it off!
This sweet pup started in an apartment with a sweet 5-year old dog as a buddy. Unfortunately, circumstances required the former owner to realize the space and time available for Jeff were not appropriate, so he came to SPIN to help Jeff find a more suitable environment and his forever home of love. Is that you? He’s a sweet boy and deserves nothing less.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
